2nd World Kabaddi Championships to be held in Urmia, Iran from 28 February to 4 March 2023
This event to be held under the IKF by the Kabaddi Federation of I.R.Iran.
Sixteen teams, divided into four groups, will play in the second edition of the Junior Kabaddi World Championships. Home team Iran are in Group A while India’s rivals Pakistan are in Group D.
Iran are the defending champions. They went undefeated in the tournament and upstaged Kenya 42-22 in the final of the inaugural edition of the meet held in 2019, also in Iran.
Junior Kabaddi World Championships 2023 teams and groups
- Group A: Iran, Chinese Taipei, Uganda
- Group B: Kenya, Iraq, Palestine
- Group C: Bangladesh, India, Thailand
- Group D: Pakistan, Nepal, Georgia
The teams will play the group stages matches in a round-robin format. After that the top two teams in each group will qualify for the quarter-finals, to be held on March 2.
The semi-finals will be played on March 3, while the Junior Kabaddi World Championships 2023 final will be held on March 4.
